The University of Sharjah Silver Jubilee
Emirates Post Group in collaboration with the University of Sharjah has issued distinctive commemorative stamps celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the University of Sharjah.
The University of Sharjah is a higher education and research institution established in 1997 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah. Thanks to the support and guidance of His Highness, the University has achieved international recognition and stature. The University is presided by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
This year, the University celebrated 25 years of achievements in research and education. The silver jubilee celebrations were inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, with the unveiling of a monument that displayed the names of all distinguished graduates over the university’s 25 years.
The momentous milestone was celebrated across the University’s colleges, institutes, centers, and departments with various student activities and community initiatives held in the presence of public and private partners.
The University of Sharjah encompasses 14 colleges offering 126 accredited academic programs delivered by 730 faculty members. More than 18,000 students are enrolled in the different programs and the number of graduates from different countries has exceeded 40,000. The University of Sharjah achieved a “High Confidence Ranking” in the Institutional Risk Evaluation undertaken by the Ministry of Education, represented by the Commission for Academic Accreditation. According to Times Higher Education for 2023, the University now ranks among the top (251-300) international universities, the first in the United Arab Emirates and the fifth in the Arab world.
