Historical Relations between the United Arab Emirates and Kingdom of Morocco
The United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco have enjoyed a strong bilateral relationship since 1972. During the visionary leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late King Hassan II, Morocco was among the first countries to support the establishment of the United Arab Emirates. This paved the way for thriving and multidimensional relations between the two countries that has continued to evolve over the years, encompassing various aspects of cooperation across several fields, including political, diplomatic, economic, trade, cultural, and others.
This strategic partnership exemplifies a fraternal relationship based on mutual respect, trust, and successful cooperation. The shared vision and ambitions of the current leaders of both countries have been instrumental in making this collaboration an exceptional model of partnership.
In this regard, in December 2023, the two countries signed a declaration titled “Towards an Innovative, Renewed, and Solid Partnership between the UAE and the Kingdom of Morocco,” as a testament to their strong bilateral relationship. This declaration aimed to further strengthen their economic, cultural, and diplomatic ties, driving both countries towards a prosperous shared future.
In commemoration of these historic relations, the UAE and Morocco jointly issued a commemorative stamp featuring two of the most beautiful mosques in the world – Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi and Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca.
