As per the supreme direction from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Dubai International Holy Quran Award was launched in 1418H (1997). It started with only two branches: “The International Holy Quran Contest” and “The Islamic Personality of the Year”. Later, 12 more branches were added. These include the “Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Mus’haf”, “Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Center for Quranic Manuscripts”, “Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak International Holy Quran Contest”, “Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Quran Contest”, “Sheikh Rashid Bin Mohammed Contest for the Most Beautiful Recitation”, “UAE National Memorizer Program”, “Memorizing Quran at Punitive & Correctional Institutions”, “Lectures and Seminars Program”, “Research and Studies Program”, “Recitations (Qiraat) Program, “Recorded Mus’haf Program”, and the “Scientific Miracles in the Holy Quran Program”. 


Pioneering and innovating in service of the Holy Quran


Promoting the culture and sciences of the Holy Quran in an innovative way locally and internationally, supporting memorizers of the Quran (male and female) by organzing Holy Quran Competitions, activities, and programs, and honouring distinguished memorizers.


  Encouraging Muslims, male and female, old and young, to memorize and understand the Holy Quran through local and international competitions.

  Honoring individuals and institutions that have remarkably served the Holy Quran and its sciences.

Giving due attention to the Holy Quran by printing and distributing it, and archiving its rare copies.

Paying due attention to the Holy Quran and prophetic Sunnah and their scientific miracles by printing, distributing and promoting relevant valuable books.

  Promoting the activities, events and diverse branches of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award through printed and audiovisual media, social media, and participating in local and international conferences and exhibitions.
