Zayed National Museum is the national museum of the United Arab Emirates, located in the Saadiyat Cultural District in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The museum is dedicated to celebrating the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan by honouring his humanitarian values, leadership, and vision for the nation, while showcasing the rich history and cultural heritage of the UAE.
Emirates Post, in collaboration with Zayed National Museum, has issued a distinctive set of commemorative stamps to mark the opening of the museum. This joint initiative highlights the UAE’s rich cultural heritage and reflects the nation’s strong commitment to the arts, museums, and the preservation of its national heritage.
The commemorative stamp collection features a selection of rare and significant items from the Zayed National Museum Collection. These include a historic 1974 photograph of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, taken by photographer Jack Burlot, as well as a khanjar (traditional dagger) from Sheikh Zayed’s private collection, symbolising Emirati identity and heritage.
The collection also showcases important archaeological artefacts, including a cup decorated with falaj illustrations from the Hili Archaeological Site in Al Ain, a tabla (pendant) dating back to the 1930s, and a ceramic incense burner from the Bidaa Bint Saud archaeological site, reflecting thousands of years of human history in the UAE.
