Strategic Objectives:

1. Harmonize government plans,

programs, policies and legislations to achieve happiness and positivity in society

2. Incentivize entities,

both public and private, to launch and champion initiatives, projects, and policies to achieve happiness and positivity in society

3. Propose strategic policies, 

projects, and programs aimed to achieve happiness and positivity, and coordinate their implementation with the concerned entities

4. Instill a culture of happiness and positivity 

as a lifestyle in the UAE, and to raise awareness on its importance

5. Develop KPIs 

to measure happiness within government entities and at the UAE level

and enhance its reputation as a global hub of happiness and positivity


1. Happiness and Positivity in Work

      This pillar aims at instilling happiness and positivity in policies, programs and services, as well as in the work environment of all government and private entities. The pillar includes three sub-pillars, namely Happiness and Positivity Policies and Programs, Happiness and Positivity Services, and Happy and Positive Work Environment.

2. Measuring Happiness and Positivity

      This pillar aims to measure happiness and positivity in the UAE, through the implementation of a comprehensive national survey to measure the level of happiness of different classes of society in the state, and the design of specific indicators for this purpose, whether government agencies level or the state as a whole and followed up periodically.

3. Happiness and Positivity as a Lifestyle

      This pillar aims at instilling a culture of happiness and positivity as a lifestyle in the UAE, and raising awareness on its importance, through highlighting the sources of happiness and science-backed habits that contribute to the happiness of individuals and societies. It also aims to strengthen the role of media as a key partner of the National Programme for Happiness and Positivity.

Logo Story

The National Program for Happiness and Positivity launched the “Happiness and Positivity Through the Eyes of the UAE’s Children” initiative and turned to the world’s greatest happiness experts: children; to participate in shaping the logo of the program. Nobody understands happiness better than kids. They know how to live in the moment. They experience joy, enthusiasm and contentedness with a purity and intensity that most adults struggle to recapture.

Thousands of primary school students were invited to draw a picture to answer a simple question: “How do you see happiness and positivity?” No rules or boundaries were set, in order to inspire fresh and authentic ideas.

The children replied with a burst of creativity,

in every color and topic imaginable that would make people smile. The children’s visions of happiness became the official public logo for the National Program for Happiness and Positivity.

The crowdsourcing approach used in creating the logo was uniquely collaborative and reflected that building a happier country is a joint national mission.

Emirates Post Group seeks to spread happiness and positivity concepts locally and internationally, through issuing commemorative stamps that document the role of the National Program for Happiness and Positivity, as postage stamps are considered a channel of cross-cultural communication, reaching different countries, individuals & civilizations across the globe.
