Description
” Emirates Post in collaboration with Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, has issued a set of commemorative stamps bearing the image of Jebel Jais. This joint initiative is aimed at further promoting tourism in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Ru’us Al Jibal mountains were formed more than 70 million years ago. Jebel Jais at 1934 meters is not only the highest peak in Ras Al Khaimah but in the entire UAE. A key feature of the mountains is the abundance of wadis, hiking and mountain bike trails, and mountain adventures. Jebel Jais’ weather is very unique; in summer the temperature is 10°C lower than the coast and in winter it is very low with snow falling in some seasons.
Jebel Jais is one of the most prominent tourist attractions in the country, as it includes many adventure activities that visitors can practice and enjoy. The most important of these adventures is the longest zip-line in the world, “” Jais Flight””, which was officially certified by Guinness World Records in 2018. The length of the zipline is 2,832.88 meters at 1680 meters above sea level. Bear Grylls Explorers Camp is another attraction which allows visitors to learn how-to live-in nature and stay in cabins equipped with all the necessary personal items.
Jebel Jais also includes distinctive places for the whole family, such as the “1484” restaurant by Puro, the highest restaurant in the UAE, specialized with its stunning views, and the Jais Viewing Deck which includes a children’s playground, Puro Express Restaurant, Meuse Café, and many camping places and food trucks scattered on the side of the road leading to the top.
