THE MEANING OF EID AL ETIHAD

‘Eid Al Etihad’ is the official name for the celebration marking the historic moment on December 2, 1971, when the United Arab Emirates was founded through the unification of seven emirates. The name emphasises the theme of ‘Union’ (Etihad), which is central to the country’s identity, symbolising heritage, unity, strength and national pride.
