This foundation pays special attention to the challenges that face the Arab nation. The Arab Reading Challenge is one of the projects working on the dissemination of knowledge.
Arab Reading Challenge is the largest launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to encourage reading among students in the Arab world.
The Challenge is an Arabic language reading competition with participating schools and students, reading from first to twelfth grade, from across the Arab world. The Challenge commences in September and ends in April of each academic year and participating students have to work their way through five different phases. In each phase, the participants will have to read ten books and write a short review of each book in customized copy books named: “challenge passports”.
The qualifying stages begins in accordance with participants judging standards at school level, educational districts and throughout countries. The final award ceremony will be held annually in the United Arab Emirates annually.
