Brochure-50th Anniversary of the UAE Armed Forces Unification

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Unification of the UAE Armed Forces, Emirates Post has issued a distinguished commemorative stamp set celebrating five decades of unity, discipline, and readiness. The collection reflects the enduring role of the Armed Forces in protecting the nation, safeguarding its sovereignty, and strengthening its security and stability.

Designed by Emirati artist Yasmin Al Mulla, the stamp set is inspired by five interconnected visual elements: the sea, the sky, the desert, the map of the UAE, and the 50th anniversary emblem. Together, these elements create a unified visual narrative representing the integration of the nation’s defence capabilities across land, sea, and air. The falcon appears as a national symbol of pride, vigilance, and strength, embodying the spirit of the UAE Armed Forces and honouring those who serve and protect the nation with steadfastness, loyalty, and dedication.

The issue also commemorates the historic decision announced on 6 May 1976 by the late Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to unify the Armed Forces under one command. This milestone strengthened the foundations of the Union, reinforced national security, and laid the groundwork for a modern military capable of safeguarding the UAE and defending its achievements. Since then, the UAE Armed Forces have stood as a symbol of discipline, professionalism, and dedication, serving the nation while contributing to humanitarian relief and peacekeeping missions both regionally and internationally.
